Optical Investigation of Quantum Spin Liquid Candidates and Toward Quantum Enhanced Optical Sensing

Quantum spin liquids (QSLs) are characterized by massive many-body entanglement. Coherent control of excitations in QSLs may enable fault-tolerant quantum information processing. Dr Yun-Yi Pai will discuss our recent magneto-Raman studies on QSL candidates from exfoliated α-RuCl3 flakes [1], CsYbSe2 [2], and NaYbSe2 [3] etc. For α-RuCl3 flakes, hysteric frequency shifts of the Raman modes due to magnetostrictive effect of microscopic reorganization of flakes.
