Raman Spectroscopy Training Course

Interested in Raman spectroscopy but don’t know where to begin? This free short course is aimed at you. We will give a brief overview of Raman scattering, cover practical considerations for making measurements (special focus on spectrometers and detectors), explore some of its many variants and look at some current applications. No previous experience is required.

The lessons will cover a short introduction to Raman spectroscopy, its fundamental limitations, typical experimental setups, common applications and different measurement modalities. We will also contrast Raman spectroscopy to its more popular vibrational cousin, infrared absorption
