iStar sCMOS Theory Video: Advantages of sCMOS Fast Dual Frames

Abstract

With the iStar sCMOS intensified cameras, the fast acquisition of two back-to-back image frame pairs is significantly quicker than with ICCD cameras. In this theory presentation, the use of Fast Dual Frame/PIV mode is discussed through specific timing diagrams, as well as other topics such as how reset, blemishes, and image artefacts affect these types of acquisitions.

Learning Objectives

  • Introduce users to how the sCMOS sensor allows for quicker back-to-back acquisition of image frame pairs.
  • Understand how to interpret timing diagrams of Fast Dual Frame/PIV mode.
  • Provide background needed to correct for common blemishes, and image artefacts.
