iStar sCMOS Demo Video: External Triggering

Abstract

Often researchers would like to control acquisition timing of an iStar intensified camera with other instruments in the lab such as with a Digital Delay Generator (DDG) or other cameras. This can allow for complex synchronisation between instrumentation in the lab down to the ~ns time scale. Watch this video to learn how to externally trigger an iStar in several different ways.

Learning Objectives

  • Introduce users to how to connect coaxial SMA cables to externally trigger the iStar.
  • Understand how the timing of the different components of the iStar relate to each other during acquisitions.
  • Provide background needed to understand external trigger timing diagrams of different kinds.
