Demystifying Scientific Cameras: The Fundamentals – Part 1


Many people use scientific digital cameras in their day to day research, either directly as part of a laboratory ‘breadboard-level’ modular optical set-up, or indirectly as the key detection component within a benchtop measurement or analytical instrument. It benefits us in our research to develop a better understanding of the fundamental properties of scientific detectors. For example, what are the fundamentals of sensitivity? What are the differences between the technology types? What are the key sources of noise? What is dynamic range and why does it matter? How, do we best adapt scientific cameras to our experimental needs?
In this series of educational webinars, Product Manager Dr Colin Coates is going to introduce the fundamentals of scientific cameras.
