Armed with a general understanding of the capabilities and limitations of Raman spectroscopy, as well as how the measurements are actually carried out, we will continue on to review interesting and practical applications of Raman spectroscopy both in academia and in industry. We will review how it’s possible for what *seems* like mere vibrational spectroscopy to measure temperature, mechanical strain, chemical reactions, blood glucose, plant health, product quality, as well as search for both life on other planets and dangerous explosives.
