Mastering Optical Plasma Measurements - Plasma Imaging

In this segment, we’ll cover how imaging can be used to measure and characterise plasmas, particularly focusing on spatial distribution and time evolution. There will be a special emphasis on the use of intensified cameras for nanosecond exposures. We will highlight and analyse both classic and recent experiments relevant to fusion, aerospace, medical, and other fields. Adam Wise is an applications scientist at Andor Technology, specialising in spectrometers, optical cryostats, and scientific cameras. He earned his PhD working with John Grey at the University of New Mexico, studying Raman spectroscopy of organic semiconductors. After postdoctoral research at UMass Amherst, he entered the field of optical instrumentation and continues to support research by helping scientists get the right cutting-edge tools.
